Our family has been on two of the Mission Possible cruises (now Rosalie's Cruises & Tours ), so far. I was so glad that we happened to find out about them just in time to be part of the inaugural Mission Possible voyage to Haiti and Jamaica in 2013! These trips are great fun, but also very important to us as a family of a special needs child. We will be going on our third cruise soon, after joining the 2014 cruise to Alaska for our second adventure. And I know this one will feel something like a family reunion, since we really missed seeing everyone last year. I most enjoy going to the conference presentations, and hearing about new (to me) therapeutic approaches, new research, and lots of wisdom from years of experience. While I gather knowledge, the rest of my family loves what everyone loves about cruising; waking up in a new place each morning, shore trips, and the FOOD!
On our last cruise, we brought lots of family, and even Grandma and Grandpa joined in. Alaska was breathtaking and gorgeous in a way I never expected. I came for the Down Syndrome conference, and ended up falling in love with Alaska. These gatherings are such a wonderful chance to help educate the whole family about children with special needs, and giving all the families a chance to interact and learn on many levels. But, even more than that, it has been wonderful to see many of the same families on each trip, plus many interesting new families. I've learned so much that I can do to be a better parent to Elizabeth, who has Down Syndrome, from listening to the experience and advice of other families and the presenters with special expertise. There is so much to learn and gather from everyone else's experiences, and sometimes just a chance to marvel about how great our kids are. And, each time, Rosalie has done such a professional job guiding and advising us (along with putting the conference together!), so that we got the best possible accommodations on the ships and went on fantastic shore trips! She knows things about the possibilities on cruise ships that I could never have imagined
Family members that have gone on previous trips are excited about our upcoming adventure, and new family members are planning to join us after hearing about the great camaraderie and fun from the other ones. Elizabeth can't wait, she's a real pro at enjoying the cruise lifestyle now. Everyone gets something special out of this time together, so, if you can possibly be there - I hope you will join us. I am looking to seeing everyone!
- Rosalie - Thank you Michelle for sharing you and your family’s experiences with our group Cruises. It has been wonderful to have Michelle and family on our previous Cruises and we look forward to being with them again on our March 2017 Eastern Caribbean Cruise. Michelle resides in Texas with her family including her beautiful daughter Elizabeth who has Down syndrome.
